Important Announcements
In this section you will find regular updates and weekly announcements for the program. Please check back each week.
Program begins on September 10, 2011. Please email us at the address below if you will be returning. Before you do, please consult with your private teacher and provide us with the current piece and book number for your child or where the teacher expects them to be by September 10. This is extremely important and will ensure proper placement of your child in the program.
Remember that all students in Book 1 and up are expected to have private teachers. If you want to avoid long line ups on the registration day, feel free to mail or drop off your fees. Please email us at infofcte@rogers.com
FCTE and London Youth Symphony: We are pleased to announce an exciting partnership between FCTE and the LYS in which the LYS will share our facilities on Saturday mornings. Beginning this fall LYS will rehearse at Mother Teresa school beginning at 11:15. This unique arrangement will provide some of our senior students the opportunity to play in a full symphony orchestra after gaining important experience in our own orchestras. Students who audition and are accepted into LYS will not attend FCTE senior orchestra at 11:00 but will instead go to LYS rehearsals.
Students who have not yet auditioned for LYS (you must be over 13) and would like to should contact LYS at http://www.londonyouthsymphony.info/auditions/
Please indicate that you are an FCTE student and they will arrange an audition time. This must be done before the end of August. You should talk to your private teacher about your readiness for LYS.
Congratulations to Book 1 teacher Christie and her husband as they welcomed a new member to the family. Christie had a baby girl, Summer Grace on July 12th.
Fees for the core orchestral strings remain the same for this year. There are slight increases for second and third children. There is also a slight increase in fees for guitar and harp classes. Please check out the registration information link from our home page.

NOTE: We communicate primarily by email and this website. If your email address has changed over the summer please let us know at the address below. An email has gone out to all families on August 11, 2011 and a day later we had 19 returned emails. If you have not received the email then we do not have a current email address for you.
We encourage you to write us with comments, concerns, criticisms, "offers of help". We have many jobs around the school and are glad to "share". Send your comments with our director at psfburroughs@rogers.com
