Important Announcements

In this section you will find regular updates and weekly announcements for the program.  Please check back each week.

Saturday December 3: Final concert this week.

The concert begins at 9:45.  Students are asked to be in their rehearsal locations at the times listed on the table below.  Orchestras should arrive at 8:50 ready to rehearse for 9:00.   Please do not angle park in our normal lot.  Use east lot when the south lot is full.      THERE ARE NO 8:30 SMALL ENSEMBLES ON CONCERT DAY!

Junior violins and Junior Orchestra members are asked to wear dark bottoms and program t-shirts.  Junior orchestra students can wear black shirts if they do not have program t-shirts.  Junior violins without shirts should wear white tops - dark bottoms.  The following t-shirts are available for sale:  White with the star -  3 in extra small Youth Black for Randy’s group –  3 Youth Med, 1 youth small,  and 2 youth large.  You can purchase one of these shirts on Sat before the concert on a first come first served basis.

Concert Day Rehearsal information:  As always, orchestras will have priority for rehearsal but all should be done by the time the concert begins and rooms vacated for the 10:00 groups. Please note that as soon as senior orchestra and the harps have played, senior students should go directly to the rooms listed for rehearsal. Most senior classes perform in the second half of the program.  Our biggest problem each year is getting intermediate orchestra members back to the cafetorium.  Please have a brief rehearsal and be at the cafetorium when the junior cellos are playing.   We ask that you take this opportunity to teach younger children appropriate audience behaviour by modeling it during the performances.  In addition, please remember that the lobby and back of the cafetorium are not a gathering place for loud conversation during the concert.

The concert program and order is posted in the concerts section of the main page.  Please stay for as much of the concert as you are able to.  It is good for the younger students to hear our senior students play.

Important note: There are no snacks, drinks or coffee on concert days.  Please bring some little snack if you feel your children will need it.  We also expect that parents will supervise young children during the concert.  We should not have children running around the school at that time.

Program Dates for the rest of the year are found on the Calendar link on our main page.  Please remember to update your email addresses with us.  An email about the concert went out on Thursday December 1 to all families. If you did not receive it either your email service is rejecting it or we have an incorrect email address for you.

Donations: As we get to the end of the year we want to remind you that individual donations help offset costs and have been instrumental in helping keep our fees at a reasonable level.  Please consider our organization as tax time rolls around.  We are a registered charitable organization and tax receipts will be provided.

We wish you all the best during the holiday season.

Program resumes on January 14,2012.

Merry Christmas!

We encourage you to write us with comments, concerns, criticisms, "offers of help".  We have many jobs around the school and are glad to "share".  Send your comments to infofcte@rogers.com
