Saturday March 6 - Regular full program this week. Remember that this is our last week before the March Break. WE DO NOT MEET ON SATURDAY MARCH 13 AND SATURDAY MARCH 20. Full program will resume on March 27th. As usual all program dates are listed at the bottom of this page.
A warm welcome to our new Harp students. We now have a harp class with four students as part of our program.
We are receiving more complaints about getting our play-ins started on time (junior, senior and cello). Please arrive just before 9:00 am to get your instruments ready and setup. The room is always open by then. Those not familiar with the methods we use should note however that checking and fixing tuning is part of the play-in process for younger players. If you arrive late, please tune your instrument outside of the room and quietly enter and join the group with out disruption.
Workshop Weekend - A small but appreciative crowd missed the gold medal hockey game to take in the final concert of the Chamber music workshop. A special thanks to all of the students who invested so much of their time during weekend to work with the Penderecki group. Hopefully you all gained some new insights into your small ensemble repertoire and are looking forward to the festival performances. Thanks to faculty and staff for their commitment to organizing the workshop and particularly the coaches who gave up their weekend to come and work with their groups.
Parking - It seems that no matter what we say about parking at the curb in front of the building some folks just ignore us. If there are no spot remaining in the south lot then you must park in the east lot and walk that whole 100 yards to the door. The custodians have said that if the fire department is called and does a check those cars will be ticketed.
Program Dates for the rest of the year are found below:
March 6, 27 (13 and 20 are march break Saturdays and we do not meet on those dates)
April 10,17,24 (April 3 is Easter break)
Kiwanis Festival - April 12 to April 30 2010 - tentative dates for our ensembles are April 26th and 27th)
May 1,8,15,29 (final concert) (we do not meet on May 22 - long weekend) May 29 is our final date.
